There is a difference in some opinions as to whether or not you should bake polymer clay that is used to make doll eye irises with resin cast bases (such as traditional BJD eyes). Many doll eye artists say it's not necessary to bake polymer clay when making eyes in resin bases, but I personally feel it is a bad idea.

Polymer clay, in it's raw uncured form, does not "play well" with other plastics. Resin, when cured, is a plastic. Over time, I feel that this combination could cause deterioration, which could be avoided. All resins, over time, can lose some of it's original quality, but, if taken care of, and properly used and handled, can last many long years.

This putty is extremely pliable, holds design and color exceptionally well, and DOES NOT require baking. It does not air dry and stays soft, but does dry out (not harden) when exposed to heat. It has passed my experimentation with heat upwards of 230F when used as a sculpting medium for irises. Meaning, if you create eyes intended to be inserted in a polymer clay sculpture which needs to be cured, it should perform well.

Only a small amount is needed to create the iris area. It can be colored with pastel powders or micas easily, and can create some very unique effects.

I'm offering the putty in 60 gram packs, plenty to do many irises. This cannot be used to create the eye bases, as it does NOT harden, only can be used for the iris. I'll be doing a tutorial on my Youtube channel shortly showing how you can use this product and get some pretty amazing results.

I currently have this product ready to ship, but if you include pre-order items in your order, such as custom eyes etc, please know it will not ship until your other items are ready so it can be combined.

I'm sorry, but temporarily I will not be shipping this product internationally until I know the proper tariff numbers to use for customs. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Listing only includes one pack of putty, photos of eyes shown as an example only.
