8mm Eye Base Mold - 3mm Iris
8mm with 3mm iris (30 cavities)
This mold will allow you to cast multiple eye bases (white "ball part" of eyes) including pre-made concave iris areas, for use in your art and craft creations. Save tons of time and frustration by being able to cast enough eye bases to create an "inventory supply" for your convenient use. No more drilling beads, or painstakingly handmaking balls of clay and struggling to keep uniform size and shape. Designed similar to average BJD eye molds available, only in much smaller scales.
You can now use my signature molds in a pressure pot! Don't have a pressure pot? No problem! Visit my YOUTUBE tutorial video showing how to get quick and easy bubble-free casts without a pressure pot! Yay! Click Here
Iris area is INCLUDED in these molds! Iris areas are CONCAVE, meaning the iris area is suited for a variety of techniques and mixed media but not conducive for using computer printed iris images. Please see my other molds specifically for use with digital images (flat iris area).
Casts are high and rounded to give plenty of “white space” for extreme left/right up/down eye positioning. Casts will have a slightly matte surface which is important to help grab coatings such as UV resin, Varnishes or Finishing Gloss.
This mold is intended to be used with 2 part epoxy or UV resins, but can also be used with *polymer clay.
*If using with polymer clay, to prolong the life of the mold, do not exceed temperatures of 230F. I highly suggest partially baking at lower temperatures, enough until solid enough to remove casts from mold, and then finish curing outside of mold. Although this silicone can take temperatures in excess of 250F, it can reduce the longevity of the mold. Use very well conditioned soft clay, such as FIMO soft.
Never put molds directly on any metal or heating element, keep centered to avoid overheating. Not to be used in a microwave! Not for use with food! Not a Toy!
Tip: To reduce bubbles in casts when using resin, preheat molds to 175F prior to filling - this heat will help any trapped air to move to the surface and escape. Always be very mindful to never burn silicone or resin!!
Seller not liable or responsible for use or misuse of these molds. Not intended for food use. Not a toy.
This is a Virgo’s Alchemy made to order mold. Please see FAQ regarding shipping times for made to order items and other important information before purchasing. Thank you! Happy Eye Making!!! 💗👁️
