Virgo's Alchemy FAQ
Do you ship Internationally?

Yes! I absolutely adore working with my overseas clients and customers! However, I can only currently accept International Orders through Etsy. Please feel free to shop with me there until my website is equipped to properly handle international orders. Thank you! www. Etsy.com/shop/VirgosAlchemy

What is your return policy?

My items are Made-to-Order, One-of-a-Kind, and/or Custom. Due to this reason, I do not offer a refund or return policy. However, I do offer replacements in certain specific situations. These details will be listed along with the item description. You can read more about my Refunds and Return Policy here.

Do you accept custom orders?

Yes! But only during certain times of the year when my workload allows it. My custom order process is much more in-depth than a lot of other eye artists. I first make a mockup eye, to ensure I have the right colors and overall design, once my client approves, I then move forward with the final set. This can take several days once the work begins.

Do you sell gift cards?

I’m working on this! I should have a Gift Card option soon!

Do you offer eye making tutorials?

Yes, you can find my current tutorials on my YouTube channel @VirgosAlchemy. It is very difficult to create meaningful video content, but I do my best. I’m currently in the process of developing a subscription based one-on-one class for those seeking help for specific aspects.  Please sign up for my newsletter if you are interested in learning when this is available.

Can your resin eyes be baked?

I started out as a polymer clay artist in the very early 2000’s and understand the need for being able to bake eyes inside of polymer clay for creating figurative sculptures and clay art dolls. One of the main reasons I use the specific products I use, is because they have both proven to be heat resistant over many years of experimentation.

*Although I cannot guarantee 100% success, because everyone does things differently, if done appropriately and with care, yes, it is possible to successfully bake my eyes at polymer clay curing temperatures up to 275F. I do not suggest going above 275F without increased risk of failure.

Tips for increasing odds of success:

  •  Use a clay with lower baking temperatures such as FIMO, which cures at 230F versus 275F+
  • Bake the “head” of your project separately, and then later attach to body, to avoid excessive series baking.
  • Center your piece in the oven, as far away from heating elements as possible. Tent the face/eyes with foil to avoid direct heat.
  • Start in a cold oven, and allow piece to cool slowly while remaining in the oven until completely cooled.
  • Advanced Tip: After your piece is fully cured and cooled, if the surface of your eyes need to be resurfaced, you can lightly sand the surface of the eyes and recoat with a thin layer of your choice of UV resin.  This will bring back their original clarity and shine. This will NOT reverse damage to eyes that have been overheated, scorched, melted, or burned.

*Extreme caution must be exercised when baking resin with clay. Improper heating, including burning or scorching, may release harmful or potentially toxic fumes. Do not use a household oven for this process. A separate oven designated exclusively for crafting purposes must be used. This process should only be performed in a well-ventilated area and must never be left unattended.

Quality & Replacement Policy

My customers’ satisfaction is extremely important to me, and I maintain a highly critical standard for the work I create. Each pair of eyes is carefully inspected before shipping, and nothing is sent out unless it meets my quality expectations.

In the rare event that a pair develops significant silvering or another clear defect affecting the integrity of the eyes within 5 days of confirmed delivery, I may offer a replacement. If there is a genuine issue with the structural or material integrity of the piece, it will typically present itself within that time period.

This policy does not cover damage resulting from improper handling, misuse, baking, alterations, or environmental conditions such as excessive sunlight, heat, or other improper storage or use. It also does not apply to minor micro imperfections that are consistent with the nature of handmade resin artwork.

To request consideration for a replacement, you must provide clear, unfiltered, close-up video documentation of the issue within 5 days of postal delivery. All claims are reviewed individually, and any replacement will be issued solely at my discretion as the artist.

Refunds are not offered. This policy is in place to ensure that genuine concerns are handled fairly while also protecting the integrity of my work and business. Replacement requests are not available for international orders.
