All New Exclusive Eye Chip Bases!
They’re finally here! After months of modeling, testing, tweaking, and plenty of trial and error, my first edition 14mm Eye Chip Bases for digital designs are officially complete!

These bases are exclusive to Virgo’s Alchemy, each one marked with my signature Virgo symbol on the back. They feature a flat surface for easy print attachment and are made just slightly smaller than 14mm, which helps frame digital prints more cleanly without awkward overhang.

I also designed them to be thinner, creating a more cross-compatible fit between genuine Neo Blythe eye mechanisms and TBL/AliExpress eye mechs. Genuine Neo Blythe mechs have a slightly deeper seat where the eye chip rests, while TBL/AliExpress mechs tend to have a shallower seat. That difference may seem minor, but it can affect how the eye chip sits inside the mechanism.
If an eye chip sits too high, it can scrape the lids when the pull strings are used to change the doll’s gaze. If it sits too low, it can look sunken and off. These bases were carefully designed to hit that sweet spot.
They’re also made for easy conversion between magnetic and non-magnetic styles. Instead of embedding magnets directly into the resin base during production like I used to, I can now simply add a small amount of tack to the back and embed a magnet as needed. That saves me production time and gives more flexibility.

Their slightly smaller radius also leaves room for a generous layer of UV resin sealant without interfering with the fit inside the eye mechanisms, which is a small but very important detail.
All of these little refinements may sound subtle, but together they make a major difference. For creating Blythe eye chips with digital prints, these bases are an absolute game changer.
I’m also currently working on another eye base design for my One-of-a-Kind Blythe eye chips that are hand sculpted and painted, so there is more to come.
